In this post, we revisit a past talk that Mr. Catanese of Catanese & Wells put on at the 29th Annual National Conference on Equine Law. The conference took place back on April 30th and May 1st, 2014 at the Keenland Racecourse in Lexington Kentucky. Mr. Catanese discussed Agency Issues in the Equine Industry. As an expert of equine law, he discussed consumer protection laws, including a general background and the need for consumer protection. He also provided an overview of state consumer protection laws applicable to equine sale transactions and their application to “agency” relationships, as well as examples of state consumer protection statutes regarding equine sales and disclosure of agency relationships. Furthermore, Mr. Catanese reviewed the Kentucky equine consumer protection statute. The 29th Annual National Conference on Equine Law was presented by The University of Kentucky College of Law.
